1st Day here:
We just wanted you to know that we
made it fine and had an uneventful flight. We hope you are doing
fine. It is a beautiful city here. We were met at the
airport by Elder Aoyagi and Elder and Sister Maetoni. We had our dinner
all prepared by them and we were shown our offices and we go to work
tomorrow. Right now it is 9:30 our time and you all are just getting up,
we think. Since we haven’t had a night for quite a few hours we are tired
and I’m not writing so well. We love you and our thoughts and concerns are with you.
Answering our grandson's question: It took us 10 hours flying from Seattle to Tokyo. We left Utah at 11:30 A.M. and
got to Seattle at about 12:30 P.M. Pacific Time. We left there about 3:00
P.M. and got to the Tokyo-Narita Airport the next day at about 4:30 P.M.
It was a long flight and we missed having our night! We are in Tokyo in the Minato-Ku area
right by the Asia North Area offices. We walk from our apartment to
the office in about a hundred steps, so it is really close.
Today we have had a long day and we are very tired again and we hope to get
adjusted to the new time schedule. We don’t think we have seen any dojos
or ninjas, but I did see an older lady just walking to the store in a kimono.
We’ll talk to you again when we aren’t so tired.
