Hiroshima Flood Damage

Hiroshima Flood Damage
Here we are on Sunday afternoon.  While sitting here an earthquake came rumbling through which is quite common for here. No one pays any attention to them unless they are powerful or there is a possibility of a tsunami (which is actually a Japanese word).
Below are pictures of the flooding that has taken more than 80 lives in the Hiroshima and Fukushima areas of southern Japan.  Torrential rains caused the flooding.  This area is several hundred miles from us and we didn't get any rain here in Tokyo.  The Church is one of the first respondents to natural and other disasters with aid, money and helping hands.  The missionaries in the Fukuoka Mission are being sent out to help members of the Church and non-members alike.  The Church has provided many millions of dollars in relief to the Fukushima area where the big tsunami was in 2011 but there is still much more to do there.  You can rebuild buildings but it is often much harder to rebuild lives that are destroyed by natural disasters, man-made disasters and even our own choices sometimes.  Fortunately Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always there to help, most often through other people that are inspired and act when prompted by the Holy Spirit.  When we reach out and serve others we are truly serving our Heavenly Father.
